Engagement Program

The Alzheimer’s Association® Illinois Chapter invites you to Join our Engagement Program.
This is a program designed for membership based organizations including fraternal orders, unions, associations and other membership based groups. The Engagement Program provides educational opportunities, spreads awareness and raises funds through meetings, health fairs, events or activities. It is flexible enough to be an on-going effort or a one-time occurrence and aims to motivate organizations to get involved in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.

Who can participate?
Anyone that is part of a membership based organization-everyone can help in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.

When does this Program take place?
The Engagement Program is a year round campaign. Depending on the group, programs and events can coincide with weekly, monthly or quarterly meetings, annual parties, health fairs, picnics, golf outings or any other activity that works best for your organization.

What is the level of involvement?
The event or activity your group joins is completely up to the membership. The Engagement Program works with your organization to find the best fit for you and your members.

Why is this important?
The more education and awareness we provide for Alzheimer’s and dementia the better our chances at preventing, fighting and curing this disease. There is amazing research currently being funded by the Alzheimer’s Association that demonstrate changes in diet and lifestyle to decrease the risk of Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Recognizing the signs and symptoms allows us to help ourselves and others find the best care and treatment possible. Early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s and dementia provides the opportunity to join clinical trials and create the best quality of life for those living with or caring for those with the disease.

Benefits to your organization
The Engagement Program provides critical resources, education and support for your members that are facing the emotional and financial burdens of Alzheimer’s or dementia in their families. This is a great opportunity to help provide education and information that can assist your members who are tasked with the caregiver responsibilities for loved ones living with this disease.

Becoming a member of the Engagement Program gives you access to updated research, studies, legislation and scientific breakthroughs via monthly newsletters. This allows your members to have updated information on clinical trials, support groups and resources in their communities.

As the most expensive disease in the United States and the 6th leading cause of death, Alzheimer’s is rapidly becoming more prominent throughout people’s lives. Currently there are over 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s and that number is expected to reach more than 16 million by 2050. The Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter Engagement Program can work together with you and your members to raise awareness and funds while promoting education and eliminating the stigma attached to this disease.

Participating in the Engagement Program allows members to give back to their community, promote positive perception of their organization and improve brain health.
