2014 Alzheimer’s Action Summit and National Forum Yield Remarkable Success
Our 2014 Illinois Action Summit was held on Wednesday, April 2 and more than 100 advocates participated in the event, as we went to Springfield to make sure that our Illinois legislators understand the importance of prioritizing Alzheimer’s disease among our State policies. Advocates came from all over Illinois to share their personal stories and ask for support of Alzheimer’s Association initiatives. Those unable to attend in person collectively sent over 400 virtual lobby day emails to their elected officials, asking them to help us in the fight to end this disease.
Each year our awareness efforts grow and we continue to see new advocates engage in the process to help us promote substantive legislation. We are so grateful for your dedication to the cause and your help to make sure that our State legislators acknowledge and address the needs of Alzheimer’s patients and their caregivers. A special thank you to our Lt. Governor Sheila Simon she again hosted a Meet N’ Greet in her office, giving advocates a great opportunity to spend time with their legislators.
Information regarding our 2015 Action Summit will be available on this site beginning in January 2015
