Have you ever wondered what it would have been like to see Monet paint his Water Lillies or Titian paint Danae? We have all seen great works of art in museums, but few of us have witnessed its creation. Now, at our Unforgettable Art event, you can do just that!
Watch our 50 talented artists turn blank canvases into works of art at our fifth annual Unforgettable Art event, Saturday, April 19, 2008. The event will be held at Arachnid in Loves Park. We invite you to enjoy hors d’oeuvres, drinks and good company as you watch works of art come alive. The evening will include a silent auction, as well as a live auction of the finished paintings.
Last year’s event raised $65,000 and proceeds went to help the 220,000 Illinois residents living with Alzheimer’s and their many caregivers. Our chapter serves dozens of counties across Illinois. We offer over 80 support groups, hundreds of educational programs, a 24-hour Helpline, the MedicAlert + Safe Return program and many other support services.
Unforgettable Art has grown in popularity over the years. When it began in 2003, 100 guests attended. Over the past four years, the event has hosted more than 1,000 guests. And, because of our generous sponsors, volunteers and attendees, Unforgettable Art has raised more than $120,000 for the Greater Illinois Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. The event is presented by the Greater Illinois Chapter in cooperation with AWARE (Advocates for Alzheimer’s Awareness).
