Crystal Lake Event Update
On Sunday, May 18, 2008 members of the Crystal Lake community joined together at Westlane Family Bowl to Strike Out Alzheimer's. More than 25 bowlers participated in the event with each bowler raising $100 to fund crucial community education programs.
"We are very excited and impressed by the success of this first year event,” said Erna Colborn, President and CEO for the Greater Illinois Chapter. "The passion and dedication of the bowlers to this cause is simply inspirational. We truly thank all who participated.”
The overall success of Strike Out Alzheimer's came from the support of the participants and donors. Because of their generous giving, the Greater Illinois Chapter will be able to continue important community based programs that include: a 24/7 Helpline, support groups, educational opportunities for professional and family caregivers, care navigation services and MedicAlert® + Safe Return®, a nationwide database that reunites loved ones who have exhibited exit-seeking behaviors, commonly called wandering, with their family members.
