As one of our newsletter readers, you probably know what a devastating disease Alzheimer’s is.  Right now there are over 5 million Americans suffering from it-over 200,000 in Illinois alone-and countless others caring for them.  Every 72 seconds someone new is diagnosed.

Your dollars help our experienced professionals provide the programs and services that make coping with this disease possible.  Funds also support researchers in their quest to find better treatments and, eventually, a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.

Thank you.

Letter from the Editor

Dear reader,

We received many kudos for our first issue of The Voice.  Thanks to all who sent their comments.

Since our last e-newsletter, the staff of the Greater Illinois Chapter has been settling into our new offices and getting to know the neighborhood.  We have already hosted several events here, including one for Latino leaders to address the issues of Alzheimer’s disease in their communities.  You will read all about that event here.

You will also learn about Alzheimer’s Awareness Day and our Family Conference, two of our most important spring events, and hear about improvements to our Website registration process.  We have also posted a new puzzle for you to try.  Enjoy!

Once again, I hope you love The Voice.  Keep your comments coming!

Communications Director
