Lead Advocates will be recognized for taking the extra step to advance our policy agenda.
All Advocates will receive their “leave-behind” materials at this meeting.
1:30 p.m Rally At the Capitol
Gather with all Alzheimer Advocates at the capital for a rousing send-off before your legislative visits. The annual advocate group photo will also be taken.
1:45 to 4:00 p.m Legislative Visits
Meet with your legislators to tell them how important it is for them to support the Alzheimer initiatives. Share your personal story and ask them for their commitment to our cause. Leave behind the platform for their continued reference.
All afternoon Drop off Visit Report Forms.
Drop off your visit report forms so that follow-ups can be made with any legislator who requests additional information or indicates that he/she will support our cause. These are critical for us to gauge our success on Advocacy Day and keep up the momentum that you have started. Look for the Alzheimer’s Association banner just off the Capitol Rotunda on the main floor.

After Advocacy Day
Write a note to your legislator, thanking them for his/her time and offering to be a contact should they need more information. We will support you with the necessary information should your legislator request something. Offer to visit again when they are home in the district to continue the conversation.
Send your thoughts about the day to help us improve. Registrants will receive an evaluation form. Please take a few moments to fill it out when you get it and send it back. This helps us make our efforts to reach our legislators even stronger.
