Ride your bike for Alzheimer’s
Have you ever wanted to ride your bike on Lake Shore Drive? Then join us for the "MB Financial Bike the Drive" event on Sunday, May 27. Each ALZ Stars team member will receive a technical T-shirt to wear training and on race day. We will provide you with a training plan, fundraising guidance and, most importantly, the camaraderie of a team that is participating to achieve the same vision--a world without Alzheimer’s disease. We’ll celebrate our progress and share our enthusiasm at the pre-race pasta dinner. On race day, enjoy exclusive access to the ALZ Stars tent and amenities.

Reason to Hope Events Successful!
In April the Greater Illinois Chapter hosted three Reason to Hope Events in Bloomington, Chicago and Oak Brook. All told, more than 375 dedicated business leaders, friends and supports of the Alzheimer’s Association attended. This event, which features speakers who are in the early stages of the disease and their caregivers, is a one-hour luncheon that honors everyone who is impacted by memory loss. To date the 2012 Reason to Hope luncheons have raised more than $156,000. We are still accepting donations, contact your local office today. We wish to thank everyone who made these events special! Thank you and see you in 2013!

Honor someone special this Memorial Day
Alzheimer’s disease does not just affect the person with the disease…it affects families…it affects friendships…it affects many lives. The Greater Illinois Chapter invites you to honor someone special on our online tribute wall. Besides honoring a loved one who has the disease, you can show your appreciation to a caregiver who goes the extra mile; thank a health care professional who assures your care; or a volunteer who selflessly gives their time. This is the perfect way to show you care on Memorial Day Weekend.
