Car Donations Help Chapter “Run”

Proceeds of the subsequent sale of donated cars come to both organizations, with the Greater Illinois Chapter receiving 85 percent of car sale proceeds for programs and services for people affected by Alzheimer’s disease, and with Seguin Services receiving 15 percent of car sale proceeds for programs that support children and adults with disabilities. “We are pleased our partnership with Seguin Services is a win-win situation for everyone,” said Erna Colborn, president and CEO of the Chapter. “Donors have a smooth-running car donation experience working with professional and friendly staff and can feel good knowing their cars will be sold at a licensed used car dealership to people looking for reliable transportation at an affordable price,” she added. Seguin staff receives donated cars and puts sells them at The Auto Marketplace, its licensed used car dealership and a division of SEGUINWORKS. Seguin provides documentation of the transaction for donors and details of the sale, including the information about the car, date of the sale and the selling price. The car program is registered with the state, maintains accurate and detailed records for all donations, and exceeds state requirements aimed at protecting donors and the charities that receive proceeds from car sales.
