Description:
During the late and final stages of dementia, the person becomes completely dependent on others. Assessing needs and providing quality care become increasingly difficult as both staff and families are challenged to make meaningful connections, offer comfort, and prepare for a good death. This seminar will help professionals provide quality care during this difficult phase of dementia.
The speakers will address symptom management, activity interventions, communication techniques, as well as staff training and support. The seminar will address family issues including coping with losses and making end-of-life decisions. The seminar will also feature an enlightening discussion on the roles of palliative and hospice care.
