A telephone service that offers emotional support to the caller and
provides information about Alzheimer's disease, chapter services and community
resources. The Helpline operates 24-hours a day, seven days a week, in 140
languages.
SUPPORT GROUPS
Alzheimer
Support Groups are formal gatherings for caregivers, family and friends of
people with dementia to talk about Alzheimer-related issues, and are
opportunities for mutual emotional support and to exchange information on
coping skills and resources. Most Support Groups meet for about 90
minutes every month.
We offer an
Early-Stage Memory Loss program for people in the early stages of dementia
and a companion program series for their family members.

SAFE RETURN
Safe Return® is
a nationwide identification and support program available 24 hours a day
to assist in the safe and timely return of people with Alzheimer’s or
another dementia who wander and become lost. When registrant is reporter
missing, community support network activates immediately to help reunite
the person with caregivers, and Alzheimer's Association staff provides
information and support during the search and rescue efforts.

Programs
We offer programs,
workshops, seminars and conferences for family, health professionals and
the public on Alzheimer's disease, advances in Alzheimer research, and
caregiving strategies.

Speakers Bureau
Speakers are
available to talk about Alzheimer's disease, advances in Alzheimer research,
caregiving strategies, living a brain-healthy lifestyle, and Greater Illinois
Chapter programs and services. Please call our Chapter office nearest you for
speaker availability.
ADVOCACY
The
Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Illinois Chapter
is dedicated to influencing policy on the local, state and
national levels to increase funding for Alzheimer research, to
improve dementia
care and services, access to community-based care and quality care in
residential settings. We invite you to join us as an Alzheimer Advocate to
speak up on behalf the half million Illinoisans affected by Alzheimer’s disease.
